TON COACH · SUR LE TATAMI

Tu seras entre les mains de Shaï.

« Le tatami ne ment pas. Il révèle. »

PRATIQUE

Ce qu'il te faut.

  • 01

    Sportswear

A t-shirt and shorts or leggings, no pockets or zips. A gi or rashguard is lent to you for the trial class.

  • 02

    Arrive 10 minutes early

Enough time to change calmly and meet the coach before the class starts.

  • 03

    Slides or flip-flops

Essential: you walk in slides between the changing room and the mat, then train barefoot. That is what keeps the mat clean for everyone. Short nails, no jewellery.

  • 04

    Water

A water bottle and a towel. We take care of the rest.

QUESTIONS FRÉQUENTES

Tu te poses sûrement ces questions.

I have never done a combat sport. Is that a problem?

No, it is the most common starting point in Wavre: most people walking through our door have never grappled. The beginners class starts from zero and you train with partners used to guiding a first session.

Do I need to be fit or flexible to start jiu-jitsu?

No. Brazilian jiu-jitsu happens on the ground and relies on technique and leverage, not strength or flexibility. Conditioning and mobility come with the weeks, at your pace.

What should I bring to my first class?

Sportswear without zips, a water bottle, a towel and slides to walk between the changing room and the mat. A gi or rashguard is lent to you for the trial.

Will I have to fight on day one?

No. The first class stays technical and controlled. Sparring is introduced gradually, once you know the basics, and it is always voluntary.

What age do I need to join the beginners class?

The adult class starts at 16, with no upper age limit. Younger students join the Kids (6-12) and Teens (13-16) groups.

Is the trial class really with no commitment?

Yes. You come to feel the atmosphere and the environment, at no cost and with nothing to sign. You decide afterwards.
